Beauty Blurbs: Physicians Formula Bronze Booster

0

It’s summer, which means tan, tan tan! If you aren’t blessed with naturally tan skin and you’re wise enough to protect your skin from the sun it means bronzer, bronzer, bronzer. I am naturally super pale (verging on blue), so I totally understand the necessity of bronzer to warm up my skin. My newest favorite bronzer is Physicians Formula Bronze Booster.

1

I bought the shade Medium to Dark because I was worried the Fair shade wouldn’t give me enough color. This drugstore bronzer is mostly matte with just a hint of shimmer. I like that it isn’t 100% matte like my NYX Matte Bronzer because that one is so easy to get heavy-handed with and look streaky.

2

The medium to dark shade worked great even though I’m so fair. I wear MAC foundations in NW20 and drugstore foundations in Buff Beige for comparison. This bronzer blends out really well, so it works great for contouring, also (if you’re into that sort of fancy schmancy makeup application…I’m still nervous to delve into it!). I mostly just use it sparingly in the hollows of my cheeks, my jawline and neck, and some on my forehead.

I think it gives the perfect amount of bronzed color without appearing too orangey, which is always a struggle for me with bronzer. Another plus is that Physicians Formula Bronzer Booster comes with both a safety seal and packaged in a box. I love this because it helps guarantee that no one has been swiping their fingers through your bronzer before you ever get it home.

4At around $15, it’s a little pricier than other drugstore bronzers, but I think it’s worth it. The color and formula are great, and it’s a perfect summer staple! Hope you like it too if you give it a try!

Beauty Blurbs: NYX Matte Bronzer

0Hey y’all! Well, the calendar may still say it’s spring, but Texas weather is already creeping towards summer! Temperatures in the 90s are quickly reminding me that any hint of summer color I had totally disappeared during winter! I figured it was the perfect time to add a new bronzer to my makeup routine, so I picked up NYX Matte Bronzer in Medium recently.

1

I debated between going with the light and medium shade after I swatched both. I went with medium because I was worried the light was too light, and I have an irrational hope that I will gain some resemblance of a tan over the next few months. This bronzer is definitely completely matte…shocker, I know. There’s no hint of shimmer. Any shimmer you see in the photos below is from my blush.

2

It was relatively easy to blend, but a little bit of product goes a LONG WAY. Seriously, one or two swipes is all I need for each cheek. A bronzer with shimmer would probably blend even easier, but I don’t think it would pack as big of a punch.

3

I haven’t really tried contouring, but I think this would be a great product for a powder contour. The fact that it blends well and comes in five shades means there should be a good color for everyone. If you’re not sure which shade is right for you, try to find a store that has NYX testers available. My local Ulta has tester products for the entire NYX line, so I’m able to swatch anything before I purchase it.

This bronzer only costs around $10, so it’s a pretty inexpensive way to amp up your beauty routine for the warmer months to come. Let me know if you have a favorite bronzer I need to try!
