Love this lipcolor? Me too! I love the shade, the formula, the name…everything! Well…everything except the price. Let me back up a bit, though! This is the Le Marc Lipstick by Marc Jacobs in Kiss Kiss Bang Bang.

Kiss Kiss Bang Bang is referred to as “dusty rose” or “baked rose.” I think that’s the perfect description! It’s a warm rose tone, that is perfect for everyday wear.

I have been wearing it in a few recent posts and out in public, and I get complimented on it more than any other lipstick I own! I think that’s a testament to what a pretty color it is.

It is also super pigmented, so I think the beautiful color will translate regardless of your natural lip color.

The formula is very moisturizing and extremely long-wearing. I wore this to a blogging event last week, and long after eating lunch and drinking water, it was still going strong.

The price is a little steep for my drugstore taste at around $30 a tube. However, I will say this lipstick lives up to the price. If you want a similar look for less, I would recommend Revlon’s Matte Balm in Sultry. It’s another favorite of mine, and it is also a dusty rose color (albeit slightly darker).

Beauty Blurbs: Revlon Colorburst Matte Balm in Sultry

0

Hey y’all! I’ve been trying to get my hands on some of the new Revlon Colorburst Matte Balms, but they’re so popular I can never find the colors I’ve been wanting! I had my heart set on Standout, which is supposed to be “the perfect red.” Every time I looked, it was nowhere to be found! I think it was a blessing in disguise though, because I wound up buying Sultry instead, and I love it!

It’s a much more everyday color, so I think I’ll get a lot of wear out of it. I snagged mine for $8.99 at Ulta, and it’s one of 10 colors you can select from. Sultry is super pigmented, so the color comes out nice and rich. It also had a slight, refreshing, minty smell.2

My one con is that the Matte Balm isn’t very balm-like at all. According to the website, “Revlon ColorBurst Matte Balm offers velvety color with balm-like moisture.” First of all, I don’t think a color can be velvety? Secondly, I definitely didn’t feel a balm-like moisture. It actually sort of dried out my lips. It wasn’t too terrible, but I may try layering it with gloss or over some chapstick in the future. It sank into all my lip cracks and crevices, so maybe a lip primer would work as well?3

Overall, the color was great. It was sort of a punched up “natural” lip color like Honey but with a little more “oomph.” The wear time is pretty good, too. I’d say it lasted me about 4-5 hours before eating. After, I ate dinner, I definitely had to reapply. I wouldn’t say that’s unexpected though…especially since the Revlon Matte Balm doesn’t claim to be long-wearing. 4

I definitely want to buy a few more colors if they ever aren’t all sold out! And, just to round out this post, here are some real awkward pictures of me. The life of a wannabe blogger isn’t ALL glamour. Enjoy! Get your own tube of Sultry here
