Who’s ready for the latest amazing drugstore lip product?? I wear drugstore brand makeup almost exclusively, so I was thrilled when Maybelline sent me some of their new SuperStay Matte Ink Liquid Lipsticks. I had previously purchased the shade Lover about six months ago, and I loved it right away! The colors Maybelline sent me are from their new Un-Nude collection, which includes shades that are supposed to bold, unconventional and “anti-nude.” Between the original collection and this one, there are 20 shades ranging from understated to bright.
According to Maybelline, these liquid lipsticks are supposed to “ink your lips in up to 16 HR saturated liquid matte. SuperStay Matte Ink™ features a unique arrow applicator for precise application and is available in a range of super saturated shades.” I will definitely agree that these lipsticks are both VERY saturated and VERY long-lasting. This product stays on flawlessly until I use some Garnier Micellar Water to remove it! Depending on the shade, I do tend to get some flaking near the interior of my lip, but otherwise they look amazing all day. Here is an example of how Ruler looked on me after 10 hours of wear (including eating and drinking!).
While they are labeled as matte, they tend to stay slightly tacky throughout the entire wear-time on me. They are easy to apply with the arrow applicator, though the formula is slightly drippy, so be careful!
I think that covers everything “important”…on to the swatches! I have ordered them from lightest to darkest. The shades I’m sharing are: Poet, Seductress, Lover, Ruler, Huntress, and Protector. Also…please excuse my messy arm swatches…it’s the first time I’ve ever attempted those and it’s harder than I expected! Haha!
BONUS: Seductress with Poet layered on top for a highlighting effect! I loved these two combined.
Lover (MY FAVE!)
Ruler (MY 2ND FAVE!)
Huntress (Perf for anyone cosplaying as the Tin Man)
Protector (Brown 90s vibes)
There you go! Six shades from the Maybelline Superstay Matte Ink Liquid Lipstick line swatched on my arm and lips for you!
I wanted to include lip swatches because I always prefer those when trying to tell what a shade will look like on. I hope this was helpful; please leave any other questions you have below! Also, couldn’t resist including a “blooper…” 😉 Oh the things I do for y’all!
Thanks for sticking around! Have you tried the Maybelline SuperStay Matte Ink Liquid Lipsticks? Tell me your favorite color below, because I think I need to pick up a few more of these! What would you like me to review next?

I received this product for free to review, but, as always, all opinions are my own.
According to their website, Maybelline’s “Dream Cushion Fresh Face Liquid Foundation delivers complete luminous coverage for fresh-faced perfection.” I only agree with some of that statement. While it does give you a luminous, fresh-faced look, I don’t think it gives you complete coverage or perfection. I recently received the Dream Cushion Foundation to try for free from Influenster.
This is the first cushion foundation I have ever used, so I was excited to test it out. I decided to try it for the first time with the cushion applicator included in the package. According to the instructions, you’re supposed to simply slip the cushion onto your fingers, press it into the cushion foundation, and tap it onto your face to apply the foundation. I found this method gave me moderate coverage, but it took a very long time to ensure there weren’t any bare patches or streaks.
For my second application attempt, I used my damp Beauty Blender. Once again, I pressed the blender into the cushion foundation and applied it to my face using a tapping motion. This worked slightly better than the cushion method, but it made the already light coverage of the foundation even sheerer.
Finally, I tried applying the foundation with my Real Techniques Expert Face Brush. I dabbed my brush into the cushion foundation, stippled it onto my face, and buffed it out. This definitely seemed like the best application method to me, so consider trying different techniques if you purchase this foundation.
I found that the Maybelline Dream Cushion Foundation provided a luminous, dewy affect. However, the coverage was definitely lacking. I tried to build up the foundation some, but it didn’t provide that flawless, matte look I’m used to wearing. (Duh, I don’t think it’s meant to.)
It definitely smoothed out many of my imperfections and evened out my skin tone, but I still had to use a lot of concealer for certain areas. Also, it did not wear well at all. I have combination skin, and anywhere I generally get oily, this foundation slid right off my skin. I did wear it with a primer and setting powder, but that didn’t seem to help at all.
I don’t think this claims to be a long-wearing foundation, since Maybelline advertises how easy it is to apply this on-the-go and carry it with you at all times. However, once I apply my foundation I add concealer, setting powder, contour, bronzer, blush, and highlighter…pretty sure if my original foundation is coming off, I don’t want to apply a second layer on top of all that.
Negatives aside, I do think this is a great foundation. If you’re someone who wants to simply even out your skin tone and prefer a fresh-faced look, this could definitely be the foundation for you. I think it would work best on dry skin types. However, with the right combination of primer and setting powder, it may work for any skin type. I can see myself using the Maybelline Dream Cushion Foundation on days when I’m running errands and just want a bit of foundation and some mascara.
There are currently 8 shades (for reference, I’m wearing shade 20 Classic Ivory), and this will set you back about $16. That’s a little high for a drugstore foundation to me, so if you’re on the fence, purchase it somewhere that is good about returns like Ulta.
Have you tried the Maybelline Dream Cushion Foundation? Any tips for me to help it stay put longer?

I received this product for free to review, but, as always, all opinions are my own.
I have been seeing the Maybelline Fit Me Matte + Poreless Foundation and Maybelline Fit Me Concealer praised all over the place lately. From people who love high end makeup to drugstore fans, these seem to be pleasing everyone!
I decided to jump on the bandwagon, so I purchased both of these products last week. I feel like I have finally used them enough to write a review.
No surprise, I’M A FAN! I purchased the Maybelline Fit Me Concealer in Fair 15. There is another light shade, Light 10, but it seemed to have more yellow undertones. Fair had pink undertones, which suits my skin better.
It comes in sleek packaging with a doe foot applicator. I have been using it as both an under-eye concealer and to cover blemishes and redness.
The formula is great! It’s so creamy and smooth, without being greasy or looking too thick. It easily blends out with either my finger or Beauty Blender and provides enough lightness without making me look like a raccoon.
In fact, my mom has been on the quest for a good under-eye concealer for years and has tried every high-end product around, and she recently tried this and loves it, too!
I think the concealer adds brightness, while blending seamlessly into my foundation, which is everything I look for in a concealer. Oh, and coverage, duh. It does a great job of that, too. 🙂
For the foundation, I picked up the shade Natural Ivory 112. It is the second lightest shade, and seemed to have similar coloring and undertones to the concealer.
I LOVE THIS FOUNDATION. It seemed slightly drying when I first put it on, but I decided to wear it regardless, and give it a chance. I’m so happy I did! I’ve always wanted to have that porcelain skin look, but I feel like I can’t ever achieve it with my freckles. This foundation got me the closest I’ve ever been!
It comes in a bottle with no pump, so I simply dot it around my face with my fingers and blend it in with a foundation brush.
It definitely diminishes the look of my pores (I think anyway, based on the photo below!), and gives my face a flawless finish without looking like I have tons of makeup caked. It supposedly contains micro-powders that help absorb oils throughout the day, but I still get shiny after a few hours of wear.
What else is there to say? I’m a believer! This foundation and concealer combination is my current favorite, and at around $10 for both, I think it will be for quite awhile!

Today, I’m reviewing the Maybelline Precise Skinny Gel Pencil. As anyone who’s read my blog before knows, I’m a huge fan of Maybelline’s eye products.
This new addition to their collection is a fabulous one! It is a twist up pencil, which is my favorite kind. I love the convenience of not having to worry about sharpening it. Also, does anyone else always stab themselves in the eye with wooden shards with the pencils you have to sharpen? Just me? Great.
Another notable feature of the Master Precise Skinny Gel Pencil is how skinny it is. Surprise, surprise, I know. It measures only 1.8 millimeters, which allows you to get a SUPER thin line.
The thin line is convenient for lining your lid, tight-lining your inner lid, and lining under your eye. It’s also easy to build up for a more dramatic look.
The one downside to the pencil’s thinness is that it easily breaks if you wind it out too far. I made this mistake the first time I used it. However, if you keep it pretty short, you won’t have any issues!
This pencil glides on really easily during application, and it doesn’t smudge throughout the day.
The gel liner claims to be waterproof, but I haven’t put that to the test. Thankfully, it comes off relatively easily when I use my Garnier Micellar Water to remove it.
I’m wearing the Master Precise Skinny Gel Pencil in Defining Black, which is my go to eyeliner color. It also comes in Brown and Gray.
I paired this eyeliner with my current favorite Maybelline Mascara, Lash Sensational, and they work together great!
As you can see below, the Maybelline Unstoppable Liner is at least twice as thick as the new Master Precise Skinny liner, which could be good or bad based on how much drama you want. The good thing is both of them can be built up.
I’m still a huge fan of Maybelline’s eye makeup products, and I don’t expect that to change anytime soon! I definitely recommend the Maybelline Master Precise Skinny Gel Pencil if you’re in the market for a new, affordable, great eyeliner!

What’s that? Another Maybelline mascara review? Well, if you insist! The Maybelline Lash Sensational Luscious mascara is a variation of the Maybelline Lash Sensational Mascara that I reviewed recently. However, they don’t have many similarities apart from their names.
As usual, I chose the darkest option, Blackest Black. It is definitely a deep, rich black, which I love.
I also love the matte black packaging. I know it will get dirty so quickly in my makeup bag, but I love how chic matte products look!
This mascara claims to provide a “full fan effect,” by coating your lashes with its “precious oil-infused formula.” Well, I’ll give them one thing. It does COAT your lashes. Warning: if you’re a 2 or 3 coat mascara kind of girl like me, DON’T try that with this mascara!
As you can see, this wand comes out with a LOT of product on it, and, regardless of how I apply it, a second coat always results in clumpy, wet lashes that I can’t separate. In these pictures I did 2 “coats,” but I never inserted the wand back into the tube between coats to grab more product. There is plenty (probably too much) from the first time you pull out the wand. It’s also super wet and takes forever to dry. I have be careful not to get any of this on my eyelids after I apply it, which is something I never usually have to worry about.
Thankfully, it never flakes throughout the day, which is great.
In the picture below, I switched the side of my face I’m holing the mascara on to REALLY liven it up for y’all. Yikes…think I need some new selfie makeup poses?
Do I love this mascara? No. Do I like it? Meh. I’ll probably keep using it, since I already have it, but it’s definitely not my first choice. If you’re wanting to try a new mascara, there are much better options out there like the original Maybelline Lash Sensational mascara or Maybelline Falsies mascara. They’re both more buildable without the issue of clumps.
Maybelline rarely lets me down, so I’m hoping if I keep working with this mascara, I’ll get better at applying it. Have you tried it? Any tips for helping it not clump?
I hope this review was helpful for you, and that you’re having a great week!
